Shocking! by tuftedpuffin Shocking! by tuftedpuffin
"Shocking" is included in my new Vancouver calendar! Check it out! [link]

What an amazing storm! We don't get a lot of thunderstorms out here, so when I heard there might be one I was sure to be out!

...Sadly, even though at one point my shutter was open for 20 second intervals, I still kept missing all the really GOOD lightening. Heavy winds killed a few of the other long-exposure shots. Oh well, it sure was fun! :)

Such an exhilarating capture! To see the city at such a fine hour is one thing, but to see that bolt of lightning? Seeing nature choose what colors it wants to use to show its power is too cool!

Normally I wouldn't "favorite" or "comment" on city photos, but this one captured my eye, mostly because of the lightning. The clouds above the city look rather light (or so it seems) to be major storm clouds, plus you have the pinkish clouds in the back. The city is all lit up and the lightning seems to be a pinkish color. Excellent. :)

Thank you! I think the pink skies (which WERE really pink, and not manipulated) happened as a result of the sunset. It was pretty funky lighting either way!

Wow! You caught at least part of it!
(I'd been thinking I should try, but never got out there in time to catch anything)

Beautiful capture of the lightning AND the skyline! It was too grey and cloudy where I was to take any decent shots :C
